About

I graduated in 1999 from the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art with an MA(Hons) in Fine Art. Following a hugely successful sell-out degree show, I began as a full-time artist working in Edinburgh, creating landscape paintings and drawings. Since then, I have been exhibiting widely throughout the UK, including galleries in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Northern Ireland, throughout England and London, and carrying out numerous private and public commissions.

I regularly facilitate art workshops with GCSE and A-Level students in cross-community local secondary schools, based on landscape and painting techniques. I often hold painting demonstrations and artist talks in arts venues and school settings, as well as give private painting tuition.

In 2009 I moved to the north coast of Northern Ireland, where as a landscape painter the surrounding area constantly inspires and challenges me in my work. I enjoy exploring and experiencing the dramatic coastline in all seasons and weathers, which I express through paint and mixed media techniques in my paintings. Significance of place plays an important part in our lives, and portraying certain views and vistas of the beautiful scenery of this area can bring resonance to many.
